Harmonising the LCA Methodology for ASEAN Biofuel – Carbon Footprint

Project Background

  1. The SIRIM LCA Team is responsible to develop the questionnaire for collection of information relevant to the development of the harmonised LCA methodology.
  2. Webinar will be carried out to discuss the questionnaire to ensure the right information collected.
  3. Development of data sheet for the biofuel carbon footprint (biofuel carbon calculator).
  4. Development of Product Category Rule (PCR) for Carbon Footprint - Biofuel

  • January 2015: Regional Training on LCA Database Building; attended by participants from Malaysia and Thailand; facilitated by UNEP and training consultants from GreenDelta and PE International GmBH
  • 10 - 12 March 2015: 4th International Meeting on LCA Cooperation; attended by LCA country representatives from UNEP-Sustainable Lifestyles, Cities and Industry, EU countries, Japan, Thailand, Brazil, USA and others
  • 10 March 2015: LCA in Policy Workshop; Keynote Speech by Datuk Dr. Ewon Ebin, Hon. Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation of Malaysia
  • 13 March 2015: Dialogue with High Level Government Official on LCA Policy; attended by various Malaysian ministries and agencies (EPU, MNRE, KeTTHA, MITI,MGTC, SEDA) and foreign representatives from Brazil, Thailand, Sweden, Netherland and EU-UNEP.
