 This half-day workshop is jointly organised in collaboration with The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) in the capacity of the secretariat for the Asian Carbon Footprint Network (ACFN). UNESCAP initiates the courtesy assistance from counterparts namely KEITI (Korea), ITRI (Chinese Taipei) and TGO (Thailand) to share their experiences in implementing their environmental assessment and labelling scheme in their countries.

The widely accepted measures for public and business communication to differentiate product as being environmentally preferable is through environmental labels and declaration.

Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)


According to ISO 14040, LCA is defined as the compilation and evaluation of the inputs, outputs and the potential environmental impacts of a product system throughout its life cycle. Thus, LCA is the tool that addresses the environmental aspects and potential environmental impacts throughout a product's life cycle from raw material acquisition through production, use, end-of-life treatment, recycling and final disposal.
